Ohio, July 3 – Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., the largest flat-rolled steel producer in the United States, has won a five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract valued at up to USD 400 million from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency. The agreement lasts until September 2030.

       Under the deal, the company will supply grain-oriented electrical steel, an irreplaceable material for military power transformers, substations and national defense energy infrastructure. The products will serve five U.S. military branches including the Army, Navy, Air Force and Space Force. As one of the few domestic manufacturers capable of mass production of high-grade electrical steel, Cleveland-Cliffs gains stable long-term government revenue. The contract strengthens Washington’s strategy to reduce reliance on overseas imports of critical steel materials for national defense.
